“To teach is also to learn.”
“Education must begin with the solution of the student-teacher contradiction, by reconciling the poles of the contradiction so that both are simultaneously teachers and students.”
Greetings International Charter Academy of Georgia families and staff, I am humbled to introduce myself as your new Interim Principal. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persistent students, a supportive school community, and extremely dedicated staff.
After working in the medical industry for over 15 years, I decided to follow my childhood dream to dedicate myself to the field of education. I am a certified educator with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master’s Degree in Education Communication. I am a published children’s book author and I have run a successful tutoring service for over 4 years.
I believe that an educators’ role is to nurture students’ creativity, imagination, and encourage lifelong learning using data as a tool to design instruction that will meet students where they are. Therefore, I will place students at the center of all school-related decisions.
Most recently, as a founding member of ICAG, I have served as a 4th and 5th-grade teacher, RTI/SST coordinator, and helped build the Gifted program. I am thrilled to unite my expertise as a business leader and educator! As Interim Principal, I will also provide opportunities to bridge cultural, social, and academic differences “to broaden students’ horizons so they may become global citizens who promote peace around the world.”
I look forward to seeing you all again soon!
Felecia Jones, Interim Principal
